Collections: Chin State Women, Myanmar

More about the Bag Making Process:

Handwoven in the Chin state of Western Myanmar. In the Chin state, you will find traditional tribes with the older generation still wearing ethnic facial tattoos, men riding water buffalo and women looming textiles in the traditional methods: only natural dyes are used and cotton is hand spun before making its way on the loom. These beautiful textiles can take weeks to create. Once the women have completed the textile, our partner artisans in the city of Yangon sew them into functional bags.
