Bust A Move are posts focused on what Tyler and Megan are thinking and learning before, during and after their move to another country.
I have a lot of stuff, but I justify it by hoarding with a purpose. I don’t have collectibles or things that don’t serve a function. My overabundance of things mainly fits into three categories: arts and crafts, beauty and kitchenware. Because, you never know when you’re going to need a kitchen torch, butterfly eyelashes or your very own letterpress machine. What's that you say? You want to dress like fairies and make creme brulee? Come on over, I got everything we need.
When we decided to take this trip, I began packing up all the essentials that I wouldn’t need while we were gone. I touched almost every item that we own and packed up 99% of it. I haven't missed or needed anything we tucked away, in fact, I don't even remember what went into those boxes. My hope is that when we return I look at all the frivolous stuff I lived without and can finally become the minimalist I strive to be. As a wise person once told me, "Let it go, Let it go."
